I'm having trouble because the images I import from the photo library become objects (?) and I can't make color corrections or anything like that.
Is there a way to import them as normal layers?
Also, is there a way to turn a file object back into a normal layer?
When you say object, you mean it will become an "image material layer", right?
If you right-click on the image material layer in the layer palette and select "rasterize", it will become a raster layer that you can adjust the color tone and draw or erase directly.
You cannot load it as a normal layer (≒ raster layer), so you will have to open the image in Clip Studio Paint and copy and paste it.
By "file object", I'm not sure if you mean the "image material layer" that you mentioned earlier, "the image has become an object (?)", or if you're talking about the "file object" function in Clip Studio Paint.
If you mean a way to return an image material to a normal layer, you can just rasterize it as mentioned above.
Even if you're talking about Clip Studio Paint's file object function, right-clicking and rasterizing will make it a normal raster layer, but
if you mean that you want to make the page file that is the source of the file object into a normal layer,
open the page file, go to File > Merge and export images from the top menu, and choose the extension of your choice.
