KCKCC At 100
In 2023, Kansas City Kansas Community College will be celebrating its centennial anniversary. KCKCC was created in 1923 with the goal of providing affordable, accredited and local junior college-level classes for Kansas City, Kan. college-bound students. The next 100 years would see KCKCC grow and transform alongside the communities it serves, but with the same focus of providing affordable college, career and technical education.
Perseverance & Resilience Sculptures Unveiling
The first of the two sculptures is “Resilience.” Standing 16 feet tall, the sculpture is burnt orange and is installed outside the Learning Commons Courtyard entrance. The second sculpture is “Perseverance.” This 14-foot-tall sculpture features the college’s trademark blue and is located by the pond outside the Jewell Building. Both sculptures were designed from Blitt’s original drawings created in 1993 and are organic shapes that peer toward the sky.
