陶欣 于2006年在北京大学获得地理信息系统本科学位和经济学双学位,于2009年获得摄影测量与遥感硕士学位,于2015年在美国马里兰大学获得地理科学博士学位。 他目前任职于美国马里兰大学。他曾经任教于美国纽约州立大学和新加坡。他的研究兴趣包含森林扰动制图、从遥感数据估测地球生物物理参数、卫星产品的数据融合,以及地球生物物理参数的尺度效应及尺度转换。
