越南共和国（ 越南语 ：Việt Nam Cộng Hòa，英语：Republic of Vietnam，1955年—1975年4月30日），通称 南越 ，是今越南南方的 越南国 政权通过1955年越南 公民投票 而改制建立、并获得 美国 支持 ^[1] 的 总统制共和国 ，首都为 西贡 （今 胡志明市 ），首任总统为 吴廷琰 ^[2] ，得到了包括美国在内的87个国家的 外交承认 。 ^{[1] [3] [4]} 越南战争 中，南越与 北越 （ 越南民主共和国 ）对立，1975年4月30日为 北越 和 越南南方民族解放阵线 所灭，南北统一为 越南社会主义共和国 。

在中国和世界绝大多数国家认为越南民主共和国即现在的越南社会主义共和国政府才是越南的唯一合法政府。 胡志明 主席、越南党和政府曾无数次指出，西贡伪政权是“法国 殖民主义 和美 帝国主义 扶植的 傀儡政权 ”。 ^[1]
