Dialect words in Chinese pinyin represent a novel phenomenon of dialect dissemination on the internet, which refers to the spontaneous use of the Scheme for the Chinese Phonetic Alphabet by netizens to transcribe words based on the pronunciation of their dialects. Serving as non-professional phonetic records, these words are predominantly written in lowercase all-spelling form and pronounced according to Chinese pinyin, thus differing from Chinese lettered words and traditional dialect words. Their emergence results from a combination of linguistic, psychological, and social factors. Studying this phenomenon aids in better understanding and predicting language evolution and change in new media environments, and enhances our comprehension of internet language, Chinese dialects, and Chinese pinyin.
