This programme equips students with essential pedagogical and practical skills for teaching and administrative roles in international schools, language centres, and educational institutions. Graduates can pursue careers in teaching, curriculum development, and education management in international schools, language centres, and other educational institutions.
Who can apply?
This programme is open to applicants of all nationalities. However, non-Singaporean and non-PR applicants must hold a valid pass throughout the course duration. CI-NTU does not provide assistance with pass applications or renewals.
Does this programme qualify for a Student’s Pass?
No, as it is a part-time programme, it does not qualify for a Student’s Pass.
What is the class schedule?
Classes are held on weekdays with two options: Morning Class (9:30 AM – 12:30 PM) or Evening Class (7 PM – 10 PM). Refer to the timetable for details.
Where are the classes conducted?
All classes are conducted in person at NTU@one-north campus unless otherwise specified.

Application Process
How do I apply, and what documents are required?
Complete the application form, submit the required documents to

, and pay the application fee. For details, refer to the Application Procedure and Documents Checklist in the Application Form.
What happens after I submit my application?
We will review your application and contact you for document verification. Please have your original documents and identification ready. If an entrance test is required, verification will take place in person on the test day.
When will I know if my application is successful?
You will receive an email notification within one month of submission. Successful applicants will receive a Letter of Offer and Form of Acceptance via email. To confirm your place, submit the completed Form of Acceptance along with a scanned copy of your identification documents by the deadline.
Can I apply if I do not meet the admission requirements?
Yes, but you may need to take an entrance test(s) if you do not meet the Chinese or English language requirements. If you do not have a tertiary qualification, you may still be considered on an exceptional basis. Contact us to discuss your eligibility.
Why do I need to provide proof of Chinese proficiency if I am a native speaker?
Proof of Chinese proficiency is required to ensure that all applicants meet the language standards for the programme. This helps us ensure that you are academically prepared for the course.
Why is proof of English proficiency required if this programme is conducted in Chinese?
Although the programme is taught in Chinese, it prepares future Chinese language teachers for professional and educational settings in Singapore and the region, where English is widely used. A certain level of English proficiency is necessary for effective communication in the workplace.
Entrance Test
Is there a fee for the entrance test?
No, the entrance test is free. However, the application fee must be paid before document verification and the test. This fee is for processing and does not guarantee acceptance.
What is the format of the entrance test?
Depending on your eligibility, you may need to take the Chinese, English, or both entrance tests. Each test lasts 1.5-hour and consists of a closed-book written examination with comprehension and composition sections. Tests are conducted in person from Monday to Friday at 9:30 AM or 2:00 PM.
What if I fail the English entrance test?
You may be offered Conditional Admission. In this case, you must complete and pass an English Proficiency Course alongside your core modules to graduate. See Section I in the Application Form for details.
If I decline my admission, will I need to retake the entrance test when reapplying for the next intake?
Your entrance test result is valid for one year. If reapplying in the next intake, you will need to submit a new application and pay the application fee, but you will not need to retake the test.
Attendance
What is the attendance requirement?
You must attend at least 75% of each module (no more than two missed lessons per module).
What if I don’t meet the attendance requirement?
If your attendance falls below 75%, you will not be eligible for final examinations or assignments. You will need to retake the module in the following year, with a repeat module fee of $784.80

What if I miss a class due to work or medical reasons?
All absences count towards your attendance, regardless of the reason. Unfortunately, make-up lessons are not available.
Can I continue the programme if I miss a module due to travel?
Yes. If you anticipate missing a module due to travel and will not meet the minimum attendance requirement, you may request to defer it to the following year. The request must be submitted at least one month before the module starts, and a deferment fee applies. See Section L in the application form for details.
Why is Singpass required for attendance tracking?
Since our courses are SSG-funded, attendance must be recorded digitally via Singpass to comply with SSG regulations. All students, including non-subsidised ones, are encouraged to sign in digitally for a standardised attendance process.
Assessment
How is the course assessed?
Assessment methods vary by module and may include examinations, final reports, and continuous assessments. Students must meet the 75% attendance requirement to be eligible for assessments.
Can I use a dictionary during examinations?
No, all examinations are closed-book and handwritten, unless otherwise specified.
Course Fees & Funding
Can I pay the course fees in instalments?
Yes, self-sponsored applicants can pay the fees in full or in two instalments, with full payment required before the course starts. See Section B in the Application Form for details.

Is this programme eligible for SSG funding (e.g., 50% Baseline Funding, 70% MCES, or ETSS grant)?
No, this programme is not eligible for SSG funding.
Can I combine PSEA and SFC to pay for course fees?
Yes, but ensure there are sufficient funds in both accounts to avoid rejections or delays.
Is there a limit to the amount of SFC or PSEA funds I can use?
No, there is no limit, provided there is a sufficient balance in your account. These funds can only be used for tuition fee.
Can I use CPF for payment?
No, the CPF Education Loan Scheme applies only to full-time undergraduate programmes.
Can I use NTU Alumni Course Credits?
No, NTU Alumni Course Credits cannot be used for this programme.
Withdrawal & Refund
Can I get a refund if I withdraw from the programme?
Yes, the refund amount depends on when you submit your withdrawal request:

More than 30 days before course commencement: 100% refund of paid course fees

15 to 30 days before course commencement: 50% refund of paid course fees

Less than 15 days before course commencement: No refund
All discounts and subsidies will be voided. The application and miscellaneous fees are non-refundable. See Section D in the application form for details.
How are refunds processed?
Refunds are processed via GIRO to the participant or sponsoring company. Bank details and relevant documents will be required.
