Radisys is proud to collaborate with Kratos Defense and Security Solutions on the successful over-the-air (OTA) demonstration of 5G Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) connectivity over a GEO satellite. This milestone follows our joint announcement last year to co-develop a satellite base station – a 5G NTN gNodeB – delivered entirely as cloud-native software and integrated into the Kratos OpenSpace® Platform. The demo validated key 3GPP Rel-17 features and underscores the potential of 5G NTN to extend coverage well beyond traditional terrestrial networks.
