Shiqi Wang is an Associate Professor with the Department of Computer Science, City University of Hong Kong (CityU) since May 2017. Before joining CityU, he had postdoctoral research trainings at the University of Waterloo, Canada and the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He received the B.Eng. (2008) degree from Harbin Institute of Technology and the Ph.D. degree (2014) from Peking University. He was an intern at Microsoft Research Asia in 2011. His primary research interests fall in the fields of image/video coding, processing, analysis, security and quality assessment. He has proposed over 60 technical proposals to ISO/MPEG, ITU-T and AVS standards, and authored more than 200 refereed journal/conference papers. He received the Best Paper Award of IEEE Multimedia 2018, the Best Paper Award at the 2017 Pacific-Rim Conference on Multimedia (PCM), and is the coauthor of a paper that received the Best Student Paper Award in IEEE International Conference on Image Processing 2018.
