What makes this guitar special: This one is a very rare bird, and it certainly sings like one. All research indicates this was likely a one-off, manufactured in the second year of the USA Washburn Custom Shop in Chicago. It sports a bolt-on neck with the infamous Stephen’s Extended Cutaway, but doesn’t have the packed upper register of the EC series. It is most similar to the LS series of the time, but instead of a pickguard housing, hosts 3 direct mounted single-coils, with a Two-Point tremolo bridge instead of a Floyd Rose. It’s built like a tank, with a two-piece solid maple body and solid maple neck, for maximum durability, and a set of deluxe Schaller locking tuners for extra tuning stability. As with all our pieces, it’s been professionally inspected and setup by our expert in-house luthier, and will arrive ready to play right out of the case.

Cosmetic condition: Terrific shape for its age, with some light surface and handling scratches throughout, along with some small dents and dings visible under particular lighting. There is some light scuffing and a couple small dents on top of the headstock, as well as some visible oxidation on the hardware.

Body: Contoured double cutaway two-piece maple body in cherry sunburst finish with 2-point tremolo bridge.

    Weight: 9 lb, 7 oz

Neck: Slim, slightly rounded 1-piece, 5-bolt maple neck with Stephen’s Extended Cutaway. White side dots and pearloid dot inlays. Sperzel deluxe locking tuners function perfectly. 1 11/16” nut width, 25 1/2” scale length. Rosewood fingerboard is in terrific shape and frets show almost no wear, with a ton of life left in them. Neck is straight and wheel truss rod is fully functional.

Electronics: Triple Seymour Duncan single coils (Neck-11.69K ohms, Middle-12.49K ohms, Bridge-13.08K ohms)with 5-way pickup selector switch and knurled chrome knobs, 1x tone, 1x volume.

Case: Original hard shell case included.

Still in awe. Just received my used 1997 Les Paul Studio DC. It arrived in a timely manner. It was packed very well. The guitar was clean and ready to play. If fact I'm still haven't been able to put it down. It was my first time buying a used guitar but I would definitely recommend this company.
I've never purchased a guitar online before, so I was bit weary at first. Boy, am I glad I purchased it through Cream City. I just received my guitar and its fantastic. I wanted to thank Paul Schell for helping with the whole process and making my purchase worry-free. I'll be coming back again for sure.
Buying an expensive guitar online can be a nerve racking and treacherous process -- but the purchase of my new 12 string Gretsch Country Gentleman with Cream City was a transaction beyond perfect. Brian at Cream City was extremely helpful, honest, professional and communicative -- and the guitar arrived in perfect condition two days ahead of schedule. Farewell Sweetwater, Cream City is my new go-to.
I have purchased two guitars from this company and the whole experience has been first class. Even down to the double box they ship the guitars in, everything is done perfectly. I really appreciate the communication and help and advice from both Bill and Andy. Not only is the service and product awesome but I really don't think you will find a better price. Its a Win Win with these guys!
So glad I walked in here today. Nice staff, very helpful. Wide selection of vintage guitars. Chad got me set up with my new string box and I couldn't be happier with it. Great price on my new '73 Martin D-28. Will absolutely come back here again for my music needs.
Okay, straight up cream city kicks a@*. I bought a tele deluxe over Internet, they worked with me to get my specific setup preferences, shipped it promptly, with great communications start to finish. I've bought and sold about 15 guitars in the last 3 years and this has been my best experience with a music shop. Highly recommend.
I love this place and have been shopping here for years. They have a friendly and knowledgeable staff with a wide selection of guitars, amps, pedals and accessories. I am a professional guitar instructor in the area and I refer my students to Cream City for any of their guitar/gear/repair needs. My students always have positive things to say after shopping here as well. If you need anything guitar related, this is the place to go!
