, on Friday, Sept. 27, from 12:15-1:30 p.m. The panelists include experts on healthcare and health law.
“States of Health” is about whether it is morally or politically acceptable to have differences in healthcare quality when crossing a state line. Professor Leslie Francis and Professor John Francis use their expertise in bioethics, disability law and ethics, privacy and data use, federalism, and comparative regulatory policy to consider whether authority over important health aspects is misaligned in the United States. The book identifies federalism’s relevance to people facing ethical health and healthcare decisions and considers the theoretical justifications for differences among states.
