Pretty good, if you don't care about brightness + "dark blacks"

I'm the kind of guy who isn't all "but muh deep black colors" and "I need super bright LCDs" I have fairly sensitive eyes. I'm not one to care about super calibrated displays either. But, I will say, even for me it leaves a bit of something to be desired in the brightness, and I've played around with the settings for the good half of a week trying to find what I liked, and tried several suggested settings from the reviews here.

I bought this mostly for the GSync and 144 fps (though I don't notice much difference above 90'ish frames from my past monitor, an overclocked korean import). I actually don't notice the GSync helping at all, and in many cases I find myself turning it off. There's odd things at play here, and while the response time is good, there's some really weird blurring when moving, especially noticeable with say, red text in a game that's on a wall close up, you'll notice a green hue/shadow as it move across the screen that follows behind the text. I've found to really help this to turn overdrive either OFF or on LOW, going any higher increases that nasty hue effect, though its pretty situational.

Overall build quality is top notch, though I wish it had height adjustment. My current setup leaves me looking around just under the center of the screen, where as most other screens I was looking at the top 1/3rd of the screen. I'm not a fan of curved screens, and I kind of wish I just went and got a flat panel at this point. the way the backlight interacts with this curved screen (only other curved i've dealt with is a large 55" TV) leaves odd effects around the bezel, like hotspots where its brighter, closer to the corners most notably at the bottom. Its only really noticeable when you have a pitch black screen however.

Overall I'd give this about a 3.5 stars, not necessarily a full 4.

===================
UPDATE:
So i've been playing with the settings recently, as I've noticed the ghosting/smearing a bit more with small text in games with a lot of movement.
the way to correct this is simple. MBR. or Motion Blur Reduction. From my understanding this strobes the backlight of the panel.
The only way to turn it on, however, involves disabling Freesync (which IDGAF about anyways). Turn it off with the monitor OSD menu, then use your adjustment of MBR and Overdrive. If you want the "true" 1ms response rate, you need to set Overdrive to "BOOST" (you can only access this IF you turn off freesync) which I believe maxes both the overdrive AND the MBR.
THEN adjust your colors. Keep in mind, since it is strobing the backlight to help reduce blur/ghosting, that it is going to further dim the monitor. Personally I find it acceptable, and this is how I have mine set for now. I only use this monitor for gaming, and have 3 other monitors in a quad setup for multimedia I use my "top" monitor which is a 27" IPS panel.

So, we do more than just game. We also have to use this when doing our printing graphics and one of the normal / typical color issues has to do with screen colors not matching real colors. A little tweaking in Lightroom or a similar program ... and you can rarely get as close as you need. This - required no actual color adjustments, only a brightness adjustment downward to match photos in real-time, so we could adjust the print to look better. Very happy bout that. For gaming, high-speed refresh rate, quality graphics, plenty big... was perfect. And, for the price, not too bad.

Compared to the AOPEN 32HC1QUR

TLDR; Went with a different brand with similar specs before purchasing this. First monitor arrived with a cracked screen - returned for replacement. Second worked great for a week then both the DP and HDMI ports went out. Returned for full refund and purchased this. This is my review comparing the two after a few days of use.

I spent quite some time searching for a quality monitor with very specific specs. I wanted a 1440p, curved, 32 inch, 144Hz monitor with low input lag and it came down to two choices: This or the AOPEN 32HC1QUR

When I was finally ready to pull the trigger, I decided to go with the AOPEN and honestly, I really liked that monitor, however, the first one they sent me arrived with a cracked screen. No big deal; things happen in transit and I understand that. So I contacted amazon and they offered to send out a replacement next day. When the second monitor arrived the following day, I took it out the box and inspected it for any defects - no cracks, no dead pixels, light bleed, etc. I was 100% satisfied - at least for the first week.

After 8 days of normal use (periodic gaming, general web browsing and working from home), the display port on the monitor failed on me mid use. Tested with multiple cables and different ports on my GPU and still no signal. Switched over to the HDMI and I had picture again. I was tempted to keep it anyway because of how much I really enjoyed it, but I already made the decision to return the monitor for a full refund after I purchase a new monitor. Well, the very next day the HDMI port went out as well, so there goes that plan.

Long story short, I went back online and purchased this since I found the specs very comparable and both were in my price range. Upon un-boxing, I was pleased to see that the monitor arrived safely without damage. Powering on and the picture quality looks great, no dead pixels or visible light bleed, etc. So here's how I think the two match up:

+ The AOC appears brighter than the AOPEN
+ The AOC has a smaller (almost non-existent) bezel than the AOPEN (great for a dual monitor setup)
+ The AOC has a higher quality stand compared to the AOPEN

- The AOC appears to show a slight amount of screen tearing while in game from the limited testing I've done with it so far
- There are more settings on the AOC that need to be adjusted out of the box to get the picture quality your looking for

Overall I am satisfied with this monitor and I will update this review if I experience any problems down the line like I did with the AOPEN, but I still don't think the picture quality I'm experiencing is 100% what it should be. I really enjoyed how the AOPEN worked to my expectations basically right out of the box, but I was disappointed with the manufacturer after receiving two faulty monitors.

I've personally bought 3 of these and I've bought an additional 2 for customers over the last year.

No issues with dead/stuck pixels on any of the 5. None have had to be returned.

A couple of the panels had some uneven back lighting when the screen is black. I used to think this was a big deal (because people loudly make it a big deal) reading reviews for other screens but honestly it's not. You basically see it during loading screen transitions and then you don't think twice about it after that. I didn't knock it a star because I had to think about what we are talking about here, the screen is priced in the bottom tier for the features it has and you might get a screen that has uneven back lighting during loading/cut scene transitions for a split second... If you want a perfect screen then there are more expensive options that may or may not also exhibit the same issue.

All screens have been great right out of the box. I have also have a really nice LG curved high refresh rate IPS that has obviously better colors and perfect back-lighting, but keep in mind this is a VA panel and it's a third of the price.

I also like the VESA mounting better on this screen. There are some even cheaper (that have less features) VA panels out there and I've tried quite a few and they have some annoying design decisions. Like having the display port connection be on the same plane as your viewing angle - meaning it juts directly out the back of your screen making it impossible to do any kind of flush mounting. Or with a couple LG screens I tried out they had these inch+ long non-removable nubs used for mounting the stand that also interfered with mounting.

Also - this screen has the power supply built in, which is great because I can run a standard extra long power cord and hide the cables and I don't have yet another giant power brick with a 3 foot power cord on it that I have to awkwardly place somewhere visible. Report

UPDATE 2 - I'm really pleased. It took me about a week to send this back because I didn't have a box and I needed to take it in and pay to get it boxed up, but when I sent it out it got back to me in a few days. I believe they shipped the replacement the day of receipt and it arrived next day from here in SoCal. I'm updating the review to 5 stars in spite of the failure because these things happen and at least for now I am optimisitic this will be the only hiccup. As I said before, when it works it is a great monitor.

UPDATE - They promptly issued me an RMA. Adding 1 star for now and hopefully if they can replace or repair the monitor I'll be able to give this a 5 star rating. Until then, still just hoping I didn't make a bad call with these monitors.

So at least for now I'll keep the raving about how good this monitor is short and sweet - it worked great. We actually got a second one for my son because we liked it so much. Here's the problem, it just broke and all I did was move it a few feet down my desk, gently laid it on its frame while I unplugged the DP cable, and then moved it back over after making a few other adjustments to accessories placement on my desk. I was able to use it for about 4 more hours after this, and then I powered off for dinner. I came back a couple of hours later and upon power on it looks liked it's cracked and the panel is damaged. It looks like the screen was impacted, but it wasn't. Oddly, there is almost like a long set of air fissures under the screen as if though the panel started separating, but there's absolutely no reason for that to have happened.

I'm contacting AOC and Amazon and I'm hoping someone can help me get this fixed, and I'll update if it gets resolved but in the interim beware, because this is not where you'd want to find yourself, either.

I've had this monitor for around half a year and it's been surprisingly good. I think 1440p >60fps gaming is an excellent for most modern PC hardware and the 32" display size with the 1800R curve provides a very immersive experience. The display itself is decent, not great but for the price is acceptable especially for gaming. In my experience the colours aren't the most accurate, and one of the biggest drawbacks of this particular display is how dim it is. However since it's a VA panel, the contrast is excellent (very deep blacks), the response time is good, and of course for gaming the 144Hz refresh rate provides a very smooth experience. Considering it's a VA the smearing isn't too bad either. The monitor itself is decent, pretty well built but I would recommend you get a VESA mount as the included stand occupies a lot of desk space. The I/O isn't great but it has all the ports you could need, just be aware that there aren't any speakers. One remark, while the physical bezels are very slim, there is an additional few centimeters beside the bezels that aren't functioning screen, so the bezels are thicker than you may expect. Not an issue for me however. Overall this is a solid value display for gaming, I think for the money it is one of the best all-around gaming panels balancing price, refresh rate, and resolution very well. I will update this review if any issues arise.
