Time-Based Art refers to film, video andanimation, which form sequence using single screen image and flow in one singletime-based direction. The issues of within time and in between time arise afterthe introduction of digital media in which time can be reversed or a particularperiod can be selected randomly and merged with other spots of time. This onsite feature attempts to discuss the intersubjectivity of virtual space as wellas the correlation between virtual and physical space. With this theme in mind,the Biennale will seek to address the time-based experience of spatialpresentation. By gathering projects from internationally renowned artists, theBiennale will try to compile a global collection of digital images. Throughconsolidating films, videos and animations into a specific spatial experience,this can be seen as an extension of the traditional media based on theaforementioned new media. This also suggests how we should reflect on thereminiscence of these related traditions, nostalgia and modernity.
The 3rd Shenzhen Independent AnimationBiennale will consist of six main components: Animation in Space, SpecialScreening, Live Animation, Nominated New Works, Talk & Symposium andGIF-ing Online Section.
基于时间的艺术是特指电影、录像、动画等，依照单一视频图像组成序列，并按照时间的单一流向发展的艺术。在时间中，或在之间，是基于视频图像在数字媒体之后出现的可逆或可任意抽取组合的现场特征，这一特征试图讨论虚拟空间的间性，以及虚拟与现实空间的关联。此主题与探索方向将通过基于时间讨论空间呈现的体验，再次深入，并通过整合国际领域重要探索的艺术家和项目，完成对全球基于数字图像的扫描。而整合电影、录像、动画这些形式，完全置于空间的体验中，是对传统媒介基于上述媒介概念的延展，是指向现在如何思考这些媒介所关联的传统、乡愁和现代性的缅怀。
第三届深圳独立动画双年展共有6个主要组成部分：“空间中的动画”“特别放映”“动画与音乐”“推荐展映”“讲与谈”和“GIF在线项目”。
