Hello,
Just installed Mountain Lion and Airplay mirroring is working fine. However, having problems with screen resolution. I can't get fullscreen view on my tv. The picture is magnified so only about 2/3 of what I see on my Macbook Air screen is visible on tv. I don't have this problem using my Ipad 3 which gives a perfect fullscreen view. Is there an adjustment I need to make to fix this? And hopefully one where I don't need to go back and forth changing screen resolution each time? Thanks for any help.
Tried all those things. Didn't work. However, last night it displayed perfectly for one show. When I came back to watch the next episode, it was back to the same problem which seems to have to do with resolution. Even when it's set to highest resolution, the tv only displays about 2/3 of what's on my MB Air screen. I spent at least 30 minutes trying to get it to display correctly again but no setting would work. Ideas?
I'm in the same spot. Your description matches my experience.
I'm encouraged that it did work perfectly before. Trying to get back to it.
I keep checking to see if there's been an AppleTV update past 5.0.2 ...
I can say it worked pefectly until I brought up the Displays Perferences and toggled overscan correction. Haven't been able to get back to full resolution since.
It doesn't seem to be related to settings. Seems like some communication issue between computer and apple tv. Last night I seemed to have better results. Maybe they are learning each others' language?
One thing I did notice was that suddenly my fullscreen apps were no longer fullscreen. When I went back to display settings i realized I had left it with scaled settings (versus best for built-in display). When i changed this I had fullscreen again. Very tricky! So many potential landmines out there.
