One customization at Wolf Industries along with roof style, is the roofing material. We offer Composite Shingles or a Metal Roof that can go on either the
Gable or Shed style
.
So, is one better than the other?
Metal Roof
If you are wanting a different, more contemporary look, you can upgrade to a metal roof. A metal roof can last for 40 – 60 years. Metal roofs are given a Class A fire rating, can save up to 40% on energy costs, are easy to clean, and are perfect for high wind areas and snow country. They are easy to maintain and are quieter than you might think. Perfect for a home in a densely wooded area where you need pine needles or snow to fall right off!
A metal roof also comes in more than 27 colors, to match your paint choices!
Composite Shingles
30-year Composite shingles are standard on all our homes and come in 3 colors – Dual Black, Charcoal Gray, and Driftwood.
Composite shingles stand up to high winds with blow-off protection, can handle heavy rain and hail, are fabricated to resist algae and fire, and have a patented sealant strip at the bottom edge to keep moisture from leaking under. Shingles add a more traditional look to your home.
Whether you live in
Vancouver
or Portland, Seattle or Seaside, the city or the beach…either roofing material will work for our four seasons!

I was very astounded to learn that metal roofs have an average lifespan of up to six decades. Before he begins any new installations anytime soon, I need to let my neighbor know about this. He said to me recently that he planned to replace the roof of his home with a superior material. So this tip will surely be helpful to him, thanks!

Metal roofing and shingle roofing both are good. But, in my opinion, metal roofing is the best choice and more durable thana shingle roof. Metal roofs offer many benefits like longevity as their life expectancy is 40-60 years. It is one of the most non-combustible roofing materials with the greatest strength to stand up to fires. On the other hand, shingle roofing material has an estimate life expectancy of roughly 12-20 years. Metal roof is environmentally friendly and easy to maintain. If we coat metal roof with EPDM Liquid Butyl Rubber then it makes your roof look shinier and extend your roof’s lifespan for 18-20 years.
